Bella Returns to Fido's

Only eight days to Baron Bliss Day. And Prince Harry arrives tomorrow. The excitement mounts!

Note to HoustonHoney
Rysha and Tyler are coming over for dinner tonight, so I'll get all the info on how to send "stuff" to Belize by container. In the meantime, pick a suitcase and start packing for Wednesday's flight!

Well, it's Friday. What should we do today? Here are a few of our options:
  • Fitness Club, Aquafit Classes 10am.
  • Crave Restaurant, Barefoot Skinny (a musician!) and Chicken Fried Steak, Noon to 5pm
  • Lion's Den, Bingo & BBQ, 6pm
  • Elvi's Kitchen, Grand Mayan Buffet, 6pm
  • Wine De Vine, 6pm, Wine Social
  • Coconut's Seahorse Lounge, Karaoke Joe, 6pm
  • BC's Bar, Trivia & Mexican Food, 7pm
  • Pedro's Inn, Gino & The Shackshakers (woo-HOO!), 7pm
  • Skybox Bar, ALL Drinks $5, Night
  • Caliente Restaurant, Taco & Half Price Margaritas
What are you doing today? I mean, you've gotta love San Pedro!

Thursday Night at Fido's
We went to Carambas' last night for dinner. Tom is sort of stuck on their burritos which he calls the best in the world. (I pretty much like whatever Tom likes.) A platter of two huge burritos (more than you can/should eat at one sitting) is served with fresh conch ceviche that makes you whimper for more. We skipped the key lime pie and fresh coconut pie only because we couldn't eat anymore.

Afterwards we went to Fido's to hear Tull, Keith, Dale, and Casper play some unbelievably good music. (I first heard Tull play in a blues band at Average Joe's and, I'm telling you, that boy is good! ) While the band was playing, I watched in absolute amazement as a group of eight devoured plates of chicken wings before diving into lobster and seafood platters in addition to a TON of drinks. Those guys and gals were out to party, and party they did. Fido's is right downtown San Pedro, on the beach, and has the largest palapa---it's a kind of thatched roof---on the Island. Because of the "No Dogs Allowed" sign, I was sitting quietly back in the shadows, but don't worry, I had fun, too. (No dogs allowed. Can you believe that?)

I've been talking about the guys helping with repairs around the house. Well, here they are. That's Bol on the left and his nephew, Augustine, on the right. The new screen on the porch is up, and what a difference it makes! You think there's no screen at all.

The cool thing for me, right now, is that both the doors on the porch and the screen door to the back entrance have been taken down for staining. So I can run in and out, in and out, and chase and bark. Ah, the freedom. The doors go back up today. Oh, by the way, in the pictures the screen isn't up yet!

Great job, Bol and Augustine. Thanks!

Y'all come visit. We'll go to Crave's, Elvi's, Fido's, Carambas' or you name it. Or we could just sit under some palm trees. You're gonna love Belize!

  1. Bella:

Please ask Tom to check his messages on facebook. I really need his help and am down to the wire with my final project with only 5 days to go.

    Thanks,

  2. I noticed the list has only 1 fitness item and 9 restaurants/bars, not including the no dog burrito bar where Tom ended up. Hummm.
